Could someone please help my boyfriend cope with his diabetes?
What I would like is say a daily menu, or weekend menu, so we can get a handle on this food . He sometimes goes for hours without eating – I say he should eat more often to stop the dizziness. He also has a sweet tooth and sometimes binges on chocolate for instance. Help me please!
you poor thing, i know how you feel thou, my ex hubby was a terrible diabetic, for the ten years we were married he used it against me, if we had a disagreement he would not eat and leave it as long as he could before taken his jag, of course ending up in hospital, another thing was getting drunk, really bad, my two kids were brought up with all this until i left and took them with me, anyway 17 years later guess what? my son got diabetes as well, he nearly died at the thought of him turning out like his dad as he was the only person we knew had it and thought every diabetic was as ill as him, it took a while but with constant nagging wondering if he has taken his jag, food and is he ok i really think we are getting there, my son is 19 now and very forgetful so im really on his case all the time, good thing is he now has a girlfriend whom he has been seeing for over a year and she is a diabetic as well. so between the both of us we keep him right. your boyfriend is very luckey to have someone that cares for him so much, its a pity there isnt someone to help you get it through to him he could end up very very ill, its what he does to himself now that causes problems in later life, i know i work in the hospital and i hear storys from diabetics all the time, most of them have limbs missing and say they wish they had done things differant when they were young, all i can say is good luck, oh my son can eat most foods in moderation, as long as he doesnt go to mad. tell him to check his blood sugars all the time. anyways the best of luck.im sure he will be ok with your help.

Can anyone help me with husband, who has type 2 diabetes?
My husband was diganosed with type 2 diabetes, on Friday and I need help in his menu prepartions.can anyone help me?
For diet and menu ideas, you can go to the ADA website: http://www.diabetes.org
You can also speak to a registered dietitian at the local hospital, who can help you formulate meal plans for your husband, based upon his likes and dislkies, and caloric needs. I also find that "Recipes for Diabetics" by Billie Little (Bantam Books) has many great recipes for everything from appetizers, to main dishes and even desserts, and it includes the nutritional content and diabetic exchange for the Diabetic Diet. Best of luck! Hope this helps!
